The Babylon 4 Mystery© David Ye
This article is compiled from the fragmented pieces of information found
on Babylon 5 about one of the most baffling mysteries in the Earth Alliance.
About three to four years after the destruction of the first three Babylon stations,
(all due to sabotage operations) Babylon 4 was completed. It was located
in the Epsilon Eridani system in orbit around a planet simply known as Epsilon
3. But after coming online for only 24 hours it suddenly vanished without a trace
and was never heard from again until it suddenly reappeared four years later when Commander
Jeffery Sinclair (Commander of Babylon 5) investigated its reappearance.
It was found that the crew experienced strange visions that started as soon as they came
online, and the next thing they knew, the reactor core was going critical and
a distress signal was sent - which was picked up by Babylon 5. Babylon 4 was evacuated for the last
time and as the rescue ships departed, Babylon 4 vanished for the last time.
What the crews of Babylon 4 and 5 did not know at that time was that Babylon 4 was stolen by Commander Sinclair himself two years later to help fight in a war with the Shadows 1,000 years in the past. Captain Sheridan, Delenn and others took the White Star back in time through a time rift created by the great machine on Epsilon 3. They prevented the destruction of the Babylon station by agents of the Shadows who had recognised what the station was. But during the seizure something went wrong and the time travel activation system was prematurely set off - propelling the station forward four years. The crew was led to believe that the fusion reactor was going critical and force an evacuation and so once the station was evacuated the station was taken back 1,000 years into the past. Only Sinclair and his aide Zathras stayed behind to guide the station on its journey back through time. He used machine (which was the same one that Delenn used for he change) to alter his DNA and appearance. When the Minbari found the station, Sinclair (who now took the name of Valen) was there to greet them and explain that this station was a gift for the war effort. Go To Page: 1
