Continuing from before: There are five major younger races in the Babylon 5
universe, plus many smaller lesser races that formed together to what was called
the League of Non-Aligned worlds. First up are the Minbari, who are the oldest of the younger
races in Babylon 5. They fought alongside the Vorlons during the last great war against the Shadows
1,000 years ago. They are a long lived race with many of them usually living more than 100 years of age.
The Minbari are a society based on order and with deep religous beliefs. Nearly all Minbari belief is based around
three, and this number is sacred to them. Their society is divided into three castes: worker, warrior and religious. Each
caste serves the Minbari in ways that their names suggests.
Their form of what we call a governing body exists in the form of a
"Grey Council" in which a supreme leader plus nine others - three representatives from each of the three castes - rule the
Minbari on board one of their cruisers exploring the stars. They do not remain on Minbar itself.
Finally the Minbari believe a great deal in the prophecies of Valen - their greatest leader who lead them to victory over
the Shadows in the Great War 1,000 years ago. From the order of age, the Centauri (whose government resembles something
of a monarchy) would come next, then the Earth Alliance (which the Minbari nearly annihilated during the Earth/Minbari War),
then Narn Regime and finally the League of Non-ALigned worlds.
