The Lighter Side of Things© David Ye
As with many things, there are always people who are going to make fun
of them, and one of the more popular forms of humour comes in the form of jokes.
As you may or may not have seen, there are many Babylon 5 sites out there on the Web,
and in turn many of those have Babylon 5 humor in them. But they have basically the
same type of humour between them (some are so remarkably similiar, I suspect they
have been copied from someone else's web page with minor changes made to the contents). It is basically common everyday jokes being rewritten to suit Babylon 5 - with some unique content taken from the show (mostly from season 1) but, all in all, these are the catagories they could be classified into:
Top ten things to do Top ten reasons why.... John and Delenn jokes Why did the chicken cross the road jokes Light bulb jokes jokes that explore the "what if" scenarios Now of course most of these jokes we have all heard before such as the Knock Knock ones (and they are very sad), but many of them are surprisingly funny - especially the ones involving the chicken jokes and the J&D ones. They pick on the unique features of the alien cultures and rituals within the show and bring it out in a very humorous manner. Of course some of the jokes are on the edge of good taste, but that boils down to one's interpretation of them.
