Best Babylon 5 Resources on the Net© David Ye
Although Babylon 5 has a lot of support by the average fan, there is an even bigger following in the on-line community - which evenes match other popular shows like Star Trek or the X-Files. One more incentive for people creating resource and fan pages on the Web is the fact that JMS recently allowed anyone to put up pictures from the show without the fear of copyright infringement - as long as they put up copyright notices near the pictures.
During this article I will be exploring resources that is out on the Web that you can find out anything about Babylon 5.
I started out on my search by logging into the Alta Vista search engine and typing in my search for the words "Babylon 5," which then revealed about several hundred thousand separate hits from the Web. I then started clicking through all the relevant links, and this is what I have found. Although a lot of the links were either dead or very simple fan sites, there were, however, a lot of good resources which I personally use. For the B5 fanatic, the Babylon 5 spoiler junkies page is a excellent source of juicy gossip, latest info, some exclusive pictures and the latest spoilers from future episodes (sometimes far into the future). This huge site even has its own picture archive containing many original pictures captured straight from the show itself. It even has computer generated pictures of what Sheridan's son or daughter might look like. The site is regularly updated with new information on the latest developments, new pictures and so on. It has far ranging resources including some from people close to the show's producer/creator JMS. Basically, the spoilers page is a gossip site for the really fanatical Babylon 5 fans, who just can't wait to hear any news, no matter how trivial, about Babylon 5. But for the casual viewer who just wanted a little more information on the show, then the official Babylon 5 web site is for you. It offers a comprehensive overview of the whole show without divulging any information which might spoil the viewing of the show, and a great site for getting offcial images from the show, such as the cast photos. Those of you who are into multimedia and have Internet access time and money will want to check out the ISN network site, which contains selected video and audio clips from all four seasons of the show so far, plus the pilot episode. All the vid files are encoded in Mov format, and the sound files are in wav format. Go To Page: 1 2
