A brief note on the Soul Hunters

Soul hunters are a fascinating species of aliens that are often rarely seen by viewers or characters on Babylon 5. They are one of the universe's most enduring mysteries and in this article I will attempt to explore some of those mysteries. But there is yet very little information on their race, their culture or even where they come from. The soul hunter first appeared on Babylon 5 way back at the beginning of the first season when one of their own had gone bananas and tried to killed abassador delenn just to 'save' her soul. Now, the soul hunters are a race of aliens that wander around the galaxy in search of death - to preserve the souls of great thinkers and leaders that they consider valuable enough to have their souls taken. Once the souls are taken, they are enclosed in a spherical container and is added to a particular soul hunter's collection. The soul hunters have the ability to be able to sense death right before it happens, although this range is unknown it is thought to be in the domain of light years. It is their ecentric behaviour and activities that has isolated them from the rest of the aliens species. Many alien species would rather avoid a soul hunter if at all possible - that is the extent that they are feared. However the humans do not seem to fear them at all as they are a relatively young spacefearing race and has not had any contact with soul hunters before. This race will continue to be an enduring mystery along with all the other wonders of Babylon 5.
