How did Sheridan get out of Z'ha'dum? Lorien had been there for a long time. What did Lorien say Tick in one moment, Tock in the next - Who are you? for Tick and What do you want? For Tock? And then he said Do you have anything worth living for? Yes, Sheridan did. Delenn. I believe he was the first to come along that had anything powerful and worthy enough to make it worthwhile for Lorien to catch him, give him some life, and then get them off of the planet. Sheridan's love as the answer for What do you want? was an answer no one had bargained for. It was completely selfless and unexpected and that is why he was granted the chance to live. No one ever answered What do you want? with love before.

My second conversation was with a friend who was asking me about Babylon 5 and he said he had missed the 5th season. He said, could you please tell me what happened. I replied, we'll be here all day. He said, do the condensed version. So I tried. This was over Instant Messenger because he lives in England, so I one sentence blurbs of things that happened. At one point he stopped me and said - so everyone gets what they want, right? And that stopped me. Because no, I didn't see it that way at all. But obviously I had been presenting it that way. So I went back, and told about the things that were not what people wanted. Ivanova may have her promotion, but she is alone. Sheridan only has 20 years to live and in fact we see him die with Delenn. The Babylon 5 station is actually blown up because it becomes obsolete. Londo and G'Kar do end up killing each other, but it is to get rid of the evil that is choking Londo. Centauri Prime has been decimated and must be rebuilt. Lennier is gone. Of course at the end of Season 4 Marcus died to save Ivonava.

I'm not just focusing on the negative to focus on the negative - but one of the things that I have always loved about this show is the reality. There is both good and bad. Things happen to people.
