Online Drafting and a Freebie

Tip
When you are in ACAD r14 you can copyclip and pasteclip without any problems. The resulting pasteclip works similar to an insert only it doesn't need you to type in a name for the block. The pastecliped object is a block and you can easily move it around your drawing. In ACAD 2k, when you pasteclip, it automatically explodes the object, and you are unable to easily move the inserted objects. The trick here is to place the pasteclip off to the side of your drawing where nothing else exists so that you can select all the objects to move them into place. While I can see uses for this change in the pasteclip command, I would prefer that Autodesk would have made this an option with a switch rather than a forced default. Now, the problem here lies in that you cannot copyclip from A2k into r14 and retain it as a drawing. Instead it inserts into r14 a proxy object that nothing can be done to. Personally I see no reason for them to have done this, but I'm sure they had their reasons. It would have been better if they supplied a patch for r14 to switch it from a proxy object into an editable entity.
