With only the double points paying event at Watkins Glen remaining, the Saleen Mustang of Terry Borcheller and Ron Johnson have clinched a tie for the GTO Championship. Coming in second was Motorola Cup regular Jocelyn Herbert and his co-driver Pierre Bareil. Third was the Team Viper Dodge Viper of Erik Messley and Stu Hayner.

In the AGT class, Doug Goad and Craig Conway took their fifth win of the season. The Spirit of Daytona Camaro of Goad and Conway took the lead from Jon Leavy on lap 13 and led the rest of the way in American GT, despite a minor rear end leak which saw the car smoking most of the way.

Andy McNeil finished second in the Comer Racing Camaro, to retain his points lead. McNeil has only taken home one win, at the Daytona 24 Hours, but has finished on the podium at six of the seven races.

Sunday¹s event was the eighth Grand-Am schedule. The weekend also included Toyota Atlantic, U.S. F2000 National Championship and Formula Ford races.
