Scoring his second round of points, and his first since Canada, Jean Alesi took the flag in 6th position in what may turn out to be his final drive for Alain Prost's fledgling team.

All in all, it was an exciting grand prix - with incidents aplenty, Hockenheim was a refreshing change from the norm. Next stop, Hungary - where the racing is usually coma-inducing. Looking to finally settle the championship once and for all, Michael Schumacher will be eager to collect his 51st career win and put the title beyond Coulthard's reach. Still, there is always next year David.....
