Supercar's Shanghai Supershow"It has been a great weekend for us, we came here to at least stand on the podium... we always want to win, but a podium was the best result we could hope for with the car we had today," Richards said. Before the meeting Mark Skaife said that he hoped to put the drama of the past two rounds - in which he and arch-rival Marcos Ambrose have controversially collided - behind him. "I know everyone is going to be watching us both pretty closely but the fact is, when you get involved in those sorts of incidents it doesn't help you to win races and rounds," he said. "That's what we're here to do and the best way to make sure of it is to stay ahead of trouble." He managed to keep clear of Ambrose but for the second round in a row he rammed the other Stone Brothers car in the rear. "I thought that Russell Ingall was going to come into the pits given that it was a lap after his teammate and we were all on that schedule. I was right behind him and as we came up to the corner he braked in the usual spot but he clearly wasn't coming into the pits and I couldn't miss him," said Skaife "We had made a great start and were just setting ourselves for the pit stop in the second race today when I felt this massive hit from behind," said Ingall. "I speared into the sand trap and just couldn't get myself out. I tried to spit up the gravel and give myself some leverage, but the car was stuck on the (side) sills. "(Mark) Skaife came down to apologise after the race, but that does not change my final result for the weekend," said Ingall after the incident dropped him from second place in the Championship. After only seven laps in race one the detour section of the track produced a nasty surprise for Orrcon driver Mark Winterbottom when a steel grate over a drain came loose and sat end up just off the edge of the track. Wnterbottom's Falcon hit the grate at 130km/h slicing through the front Kevlar splitter, the radiator and the engine sump. Then it sliced through the floor tray and driver's seat before ripping a large a hole just behind the seat as well as slicing the roll bar cross member in half.
