Another point about promoting healthy growth is to remove spent blooms as soon as they have finished. We make a point of taking off any spent blooms when we walk past the plants after, or before, our walk each morning. It is also as well to water under the foliage every morning during the summer. As I said before, we do water in the morning and it seems to have worked. After all nothing could be more satisfying than well grown and cultivated roses that you can cut and use to decorate the dining table or use to decorate any other table in the house.
