Time-Out or Hair-Out??

Jul 1, 1999 - © Heike Boehnke

Positve Discipline is a wonderful resource, visit their website, where you will find information about Jane Nelsen and her book. A mother of eight, she now uses her experience to teach others to discipline their children effectively and with respect. Many children react very well to this concept, and I highly recommend her literature if you are studying alternate discipline forms. I feel one must consider the temperament of their child, and act accordingly. I use Jane Nelsen’s expertise in situations where I believe it is useful, and my gut instinct in others. One thing that has always worked well for us is distracting. If my daughter is ripping the pages out of a book, I tell her NO, take the book, take her to another place and play with her and her toys…

Now let me see if I can peel her off the floor and bribe into letting me look around for 10 more minutes with some ice-cream! :)
