I do not want to downplay allegations of sexual abuse, especially when it concerns children. As I mentioned before, I feel we have to take this situation in our hands and TEACH our children. Sadly, we must teach them what a “wrong” touch is, no matter where it comes from. Isn't it funny that more children are allowed to see violence, blood and gore on TV and the movies, but when a bare breast is shown, their eyes are covered? If we teach our children that nothing they tell us about nakedness or their body will embarass us, they may be more willing and less scared to tell you when someone touches them "funny." A shocking study shows that most sexual abuse of children is committed within the home and family.

Remember that a hug can move the world! Hug your children, your spouse, your parents, your friends as much as you can, and baste in the warm, fuzzy feeling that comes with it.

*Read Traute's story in To hug or not to hug, that is the question).

P.S. Excuse the multiple mention of "huggy"! :) Best description, fits the subject!

Hi Heike, great topic! I'm not sure about the Europeans all being huggers though. When we visit my husband's family once a year in France, they just give a couple kisses on the cheeks. No hugs. I ...
