Relocation, relocation, relocationIn my experience, we can. You can be a star in one location and a recluse in another. How does it work? Simply put, the positions of the planets in your chart do not change when you relocate. If the sun in your natal chart is at 7 Aries 02, it will remain at 7 Aries 02 in your relocated chart. What does change are the angles of the chart. For example, one of the members of my family was born on the East Cost with Virgo rising and moved to the West Coast, where she has Cancer rising in her relocated chart. This is because at the moment that Virgo was rising at the location of her birth, Cancer was rising further to the west. And the relocated chart is cast for the same time using the new latitude and longitude. Now, obviously, moving from your birth location will change the degree of the rising sign on your birth chart and - if you move far enough - the actual sign. What follows from this is that some of your planets may be located in different houses in the relocated chart. This is because the houses in a chart are calculated based on the rising degree. How can this change your life? Since astrology is based on the study of unique birth charts - and equally unique relocated charts - how any change will impact you will depend on your birth chart and on where, exactly, you move. But in general, you could experience planets moving from one house to another, or planets that are conjunct an angle moving away from an angle, or planets that were not emphasized in your chart now lying conjunct an angle and becoming vitally important in your life. You move and suddenly your sun is in the 12th house, the hidden house of the chart. Will your life change? You bet. Will it impact you spiritually? How you react will depend upon your birth chart. You may feel betrayed by the universe. Or you may take this opportunity to examine your inner self, something you never had the time to do before. In either case, astrology can help you understand what is happening. Let's take another example. Let's say you have a heavily
