bit strange, since my foot sat flat on the surface of the device instead of curling my toes around to rest on the mouse buttons. With a little practice, however, the FootRat might be useful for many keyboardists.

The utility of the FootRat and TouchTime lies in the ability to point and click without taking one's hands from the keys. This makes it a possible access solution for those who can type on a regular or alternative keyboard but have trouble pointing the mouse accurately. For many with physical disabilities, transitioning from the mouse to the keyboard interrupts stable positioning and increases abnormal muscle tone. The FootRat could eliminate these difficulties, if they can accurately direct the pointer with a foot.

Other PDG offerings

PDG also offers a RatMat, a l2" by 14" nylon surface on which to move the FootRat. From my testing without a RatMat, I would advise purchasing the RatMat, as it was difficult to find a smooth, flat surface of an appropriate size for the FootRat. Everything I had in my stash of junk was too small or too large.

PDG also makes the Modified Mouse, which has two foot peddles, one for moving the pointer and one for clicking. PDG had also developed a handy gadget called the Mouse Cable Holder, which keeps the mouse cord from curling and getting in the way. You can receive a Mouse Cable Holder free by request from the PDG web site.
