Had I known, all those years ago (9) that my son was suffering from Sensory Integration Dysfunction I would have certainly implemented some exercises and activities to assist him. In case you are wondering, it is never too late to start these exercises and activities at home. I came across one article written by an Occupational Therapist who stated that the oldest person she treated was 39 and after a few months of therapy some sensory issues were resolved. The parents that I have spoken to regarding Sensory Integration exercises all recommend that these activies be made into a "fun time" and incorporated in your daily schedule. You may want to enlist the help of an Occupational Therapist before you start trying to help your child.
