You may serve this with the Indonesian inspired chicken wings that was featured in a previous article.Traditionally, this is served with Sate-the famed barbecue of indonesia and malaysia.

Salad:
1/2 cup cooked cabbage, shredded
1/2 cup cooked carrots, sliced
1/2 cup cooked cut green beans
1/2 cup french-fried potatoes
1 tomato, sliced
1 cucumber, sliced
1 cup fried soya bean cake, sliced (optional) but this is what makes this a classic-the use of tofu in this dish
2 cooked eggs, sliced (for garnish)
Sauce:
6 T. peanut butter
1/4 tsp. garlic powder or use freshly chopped garlic (1/2 tsp.)
1 bay leaf
1 tsp. ground red pepper
1 cup water
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 cup milk
1 slice of lemon
salt to taste
Cook vegetables . Set aside and prepare sauce.
Saute garlic, bay leaf, red pepper in peanut butter. Add water, sugar and milk gradually into mixture. Add lemon slice.
Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until thickened.
Place sauce in a serving bowl.
Arrange the vegetables and soy bean slices in a platter.
Garnish with frenchfried potatoes and sliced boiled egg.
Serves 4.
