Sponsor Wanted! If you've ever wanted to sponsor a race car, there's one that is in despirate need of a sponsorhip, NOW! This isn't some second rate team with a rookie driver trying his luck on the ARCA circuit. This is one of the best cars on the track. If you don't believe me, try second place at Daytona. That's right, second place at Daytona, yet possibly not going to Nashville unless someone is found to foot the bills. This opportunity is much better than the stock market. Let's face it, it's practically risk free. The reason? Bob Strait! That's right, 16 year veteran and a top ten finisher 116 times on the ARCA/ReMax tour, Strait finds himself without a sponsor for the remainder of the 2001 season, and without sponsorship, his season may be over before it really gets started. Last year's series runner-up says, "Don't misunderstand me, I'm not complaining at all; we're just frustrated because we know we have the ability to win this championship. I can't thank Mark (Thompson) enough, and I can't expect him to keep footing the bill. He's already done more than his share for this team; he's given us the best of everything to work with, a great crew, Bob Bissinger and my brother Don who work together as co-crew chiefs, Lloyd and all the guys who help out at the shop and on race week; we've got Joe Rhyne engines, best there is as far as we're concerned. After all these years, my situation in motorsports has never been better, except for the sponsorship part." Strait continued, "We didn't even know we were going to Daytona until a week before the race. Now I don't have to tell you, that's not enough time to prepare for our biggest race of the year. And after all that, we still finished 2nd, damn-near won it. And the only reason we went to Daytona is because we got some help from some friends back home. Bill Hendren, who fielded short-track cars for us last year, raised the money just in time to get us to Daytona. If it wasn't for Bill, we wouldn't of even have had the opportunity to run second at Daytona. Just imagine what this team could do with the necessary resources." So, if you have the desire and the financial resources to sponsor a winner, here's your chance. Those of us who enjoy watching ARCA racing would miss Bob Strait if he has to sit out the rest of the season because of a lack of sponsorship. In fact, we may miss him as much as he misses the series. We love to watch a winner, and Bob certainly is that. More than that, however, we want to see him add to that 16 ARCA ReMax victories. He's always been a fan favorite, and his fans would surely miss him.
