Promoting Arts OrganisationsAfter much though I suggested blogging. A quick simple blog for every one would get us launched. Allow us to start spreading the message and then from there the bank of information could be disseminated in a wide variety of formats. An informative missive could be sprayed into every fertile crack and cranny of Brisbane. News could be released that this fantastic process is available right here - right now! (Enrollment Information.) " I also teach with MIECAT here in Brisbane and am currently embarking on their Professional Doctorate Programme - the only Creative Arts Therapy doctorate running in Australia. This institute has real integrity and I am honoured to be a part of it and work with such innovative people." SarvaI see blogging as a launching pad. It is so easy to quote each other's words this way. Quickly we can write articles and send them off, reassured by a steady stream of authentic information. We are able to quote each other and check our writing to make sure it reflects adequately the true nature of the Melbourne Institute. Blogs are so quick, immediate, available and cost effective. They lend themselves to so many types of media input. When we become more comfortable with the medium we can use technology such as streaming, Pod Casting, and Quick Time Video, animation and cartooning. We can illustrate happenings with digital imagery. The Internet also allows us to reach out to those confined due to disability and to even "speak to the blind" through Pod casting and alternate text. There were six of us at the workshop where we designed an approach to promotion. As each Blog of the six comes online I will introduce them to you by linkage here. I will keep you updated so that you can read their work, share ideas and see their experiments with different types of 'capture' of multi-modal presentation. I hope you feel free to comment and to ask questions on the discussion boards below. If you would like to read more about MIECAT check these pages.
