Yesterday I met with some members of the Brisbane MIECAT Association to discuss promotion.
"The MIECAT approach is dedicated to the pursuit of meanings. It aims to support individuals who wish to understand more about themselves, groups wanting to explore shared meanings, and for organisations that rely on collaborative person centered approaches to achieve work related goals. MIECAT is a group of artists, therapists, educators and people who seek to make sense of things. They come together to learn and work in a spirit of inquiry. The Process (by this I mean the MIECAT process of inquiry) is multi-modal. Therefore promoting the organisation requires a multi-dimensional approach. "We use art, dramatic enactment and any creative expression that we know, to depth and get a sense of the person's unique experience, for them to get their own picture, to enlarge, it reduce it, act it out, sculpt it, get to know it - the art is a container for the emotion and an access point to experience." SarvaIt is a process that is versatile and able to be used in many settings. " My colleagues from MIECAT Brisbane and I also like to train others who work with young people and other sectors of the community. We offer Professional Development - try to assist others in becoming aware of how they are functioning in relationship to their work, their colleagues and themselves. We do this with individuals and organization, small groups, big groups. I also teach with MIECAT here in Brisbane and am currently embarking on their Professional Doctorate Programme - the only Creative Arts Therapy doctorate running in Australia. This institute has real integrity and I am honoured to be a part of it and work with such innovative people. So it can become a kitbag for Teachers, Health Workers, Artists, Counselors, Liturgists, ArtsWorkers Community Arts Workers or People who facilitate Community Development. It is available for all those who want to develop personally and professionally. Promotion of a community of people whose potential reach is so profound must be all encompassing. So the range of strategies need to be able to reach a wide array of target markets and be versatile in format. "Where to start?" Go To Page: 1 2
