A quick web search will tell you that Lili Adriani is an artist from the Gold Coast. AU She has organised a brave venture for artists here in Queensland and some further down south. I decided to check this venture out for myself.
"What is the proposition," I asked her? "Because of the low entrance rate for exhibitors it is all completely self serve with all responsibility resting with the artists to market and sell their work." "All sounds a bit too good to be true," I thought quietly. "How do you make money then?" I asked."My wages come from the ticket sales at the door." "$5 per person." "This is a good system. It means that I have to generate a flow of traffic to earn my wages. This is just what you want - isn't it?" she asked laughing. "Yes," I thought, "Can't fault the logic of that." All sounded good to me so I began to examine the pro and cons of the situation. Lets make a list I thought. Pros.
"How much room would I have to exhibit?" I asked her. I was still a bit puzzled about how a mural artist could make this system work for her. "2.4m high, 2m wide by two panels." she replied with encouragement! "You will like this she said," showing me a map of the area.
