Judith Leyster - Lost and Found

It is perhaps sad that Leyster received no recognition for more than two hundred years as the great artist that she was. Still being rediscovered in 1893 when the Louvre purchased one of her paintings, then believed to be by Frans Hals and found to be otherwise, has brought about renewed interest in her art. Now recognition for Haarlem artist Judith Leyster is worldwide.
