Numbering Your EditionsIf you decide to number your stamps, get a small notebook to keep track of where your sheets go. Just write the name of the edition on the top of a page, and then list the people you send it to (or, optimistically, sell them to), with the number beside their name/handle/posting alias. That way, you have all your information at your fingertips, and when you go to send out some stamps in reciprocation for some that have come to you, you can just scan the lists to see if that person has already received a particular edition. Though I don't have time to number most of my general-release editions, any special editions I have are automatically signed and numbered, just for record-keeping. (Any that I've printed in an odd way, like with a gocco printer instead of a computer printer, for instance, or any that are hand-made.) If you've got the time and the energy, numbering your stamps is a great idea. Don't overlook it as an option to make your stamp-making more organized and your mailings less duplicated.
