Need a good laugh?,Comedy art/writing©
In these times of turmoil we all need a good laugh to help ease
the tension. In fact most of us including me can not survive our
every day life without a laugh once a week. "Laughter is the
best medicine" is a true statement. Humor,my friends, lowers your blood pressure and cholesterol level, plus it hepls our mental health. Laughter is part of human nature,we all need to laugh.
Comedy has been around since the age of time. It is still going
strong in art and writing. People never get tired of laughing.
I enjoy writing one liners and putting comedy into my writing. You might like doing humor art or writing yourself. Hay,you have to admit it is fun and you can chuckle as you create. Of course I never made it anywhere with my writing. Writers and Artists are a dime a dozen. So if your looking for fame and money forget it,that can not be your motive for writing or drawing comedy. You have to do it for the fun of it. One of my favorite comedians is Carol Burnett. Remember her show that was on in the 70's. God,how I used to laugh at those skits. Some of the younger crowd might have seen her reruns, but most people should know Carol Burnett,if not I am sure you can get a video or DVD of her show and numerous movies she did. Well, who better to learn from about comedy than Carol Burnett. The book is entitled,"Comedy Writing, step by step" it is written by Gene Perret and Carol Burnett. The cost is only $7.88,so you won't burn a hole in your pocket. You can purchase the book online from amazon.com or Barnes and Noble. Now,what this book does is it helps you to develop your skills as a comedy writer. It is an excellent way to learn and get started in the comedy world. So do yourself a favor, read the book. Drawing comedy is great and fun. Humor in pictures relieves the stress of every day life. It all so is a great therapy to help depression and anger. So put some humor in your work.
