The color brown can symbolize many things, tough, bullshit, gloomy, nature, murky, and uncertain. The most popular by far is Mother
Earth. Brown symbolizes dirt, earth, the land we need to survive.
Mother Earth is beautiful. She gives us life. Throughout the years, Mother Earth has been raped by developers, gold diggers,
prospecters, but yet she has managed to survive. The Native
Americans truly idolize Mother Earth, and they use her resources
to make wonderful pottery and jewerly. As their ancestors did
many years ago they continue to live and thrive from Mother Earth.
From earth comes pottery. Pottery was essential many years ago to make bowls, cups, plates, boxes, etc. and today we still create
with dirt and clay. The Native Americans are known most for their pottery. To truly see the beauty of what can be created
with pottery, take a few minutes after reading this article to
visit the Pueblo Indians museum to study and appreciate pottery.
Pottery is a great way to relieve tension, mold ideas for writing or painting, and bringing out your creative side. To get
started on this Mother Earth project you can get a beginner
pottery set made of plastic including the wheel for $25.00
dollars at an Arts&Crafts store such as Michaels or visit a
ToysRUS store. For more on pottery check out this mini article
about getting started with pottery. Remember don't frown on
brown, save Mother Earth. She is the only one we have.
Next month I'll be doing blue and white. Have a safe and happy
month. Please check out the Pueblo Indians Museum and read
