Georgia O'KeeffeA few pictures of the dog, several textures, and some flowers later, I used up a floppy and began my work. The flowers where the obvious place to start so I pushed aside the other images in favor of whittling out my choices of a good flower picture. I forced it down to two. And finally I thought back to Georgia's images again. Her flowers were smooth and close up, so I took the obvious picture after that and began to manipulate the image in a paint program. I wanted to get my image down to smooth sensual shapes and colors. I blurred and guassed and passed low bands of haziness over the image. Finally I posterized it blurred it one last time. I looked at the wide range of color from dark to light and felt that the darker end of the image best reflected sensuality and cropped down to that simple hazy part of an image. In the end I think I have strayed somewhat from the O'Keeffe idea. But the initial inspiration starts with her, and the beginning is not always the most important part of a journey. Enjoy. Happy Creating.
