Protection from Spring Sun

Many are unaware that springs sun can be more intense compared to summer. This is why plants can become burned by the suns rays in the spring in the same potion they were in at other times of the month. This harsh sun can likewise burn you or cause further sun damage if you are not careful. Many in the field of dermotology suggest now is the time to start a regimen of sunblock. Not the hazy days of summer. Likewise in addition to sunblock, those in the field are starting to take notice of alternative methods to help prevent sun damage which can lead to various types of skin cancer. Skin cancer has jumped to epidemic proportions, likely thanks to the depletion of the ozone and Coco Channel. These alternative treatments include the use of grapeseed oil as a daily moisturizer or skin lotion. The basis for this recordation is the antioxidant qualities of the grapeseed which is easily absorbed into ones skin.

Of course, through the use of essential oils, grapeseeds ability to help stave off sun damage can be heightened a notch. Essential oils in general were found by college studies to be very antioxidant and very potent. Certain essential oils were more antioxidant compared to others. These included essential oil of cinnamon, eucalyptus, lavender, lemongrass, chamomile, sandalwood, clove, thyme and juniper. It would be quite easy to incorporate these essential oils, singularly or in (medicinal) synergistic combination, to grapeseed oil to form a super skin lotion. They could also be used in mist bottles for application throughout the day or in bath treatments. Due to the ease of use essential oils affords and their easy addition to almost any kind of commercial product, your ability to render yourself immune from the harmful rays of the sun can be greatly magnified. The added benefit will be many of the signs of aging associated with sun damage as well as a lesser need to rely on chemical based sun blocks.

Some have noted that the higher protection sun blocks (SPF 45 and up) may over tax your system with its chemical ingredients. Many like to use such high levels as it allows them to keep from reapplying every 15 minutes, as they would with an SPF of 15. That's right, the SPF number is telling you how long you can stay in the sun before having to reapply more. This very important to keep in mind.
