Sending a Card with Aromatic Meaning

Sending a Card with Aromatic Meaning

In addition to personalized cards and little inserted trinkets, a wonderful way of adding a special touch is through the use of pure essential oils. They are perfect to help convey your feelings and wishes to the recipient. The is done in two major ways. It was once popular for women to use a signature scent on their correspondence, letting the recipient instantly know it was from them, even without a glance of the return address. You too can do this by finding an essential oil or aromatic blend that is truly befitting you and use it to scent all of your correspondence. Another way to make your cards have special meaning is to choose an essential oil to help convey your message. If you wish to cheer someone up, why not scent your card with lemon, orange or peppermint? For a conveyance of love, try rose, geranium or ylang ylang. For a warm feeling try vanilla, lavender or bitter almond. You can also scent your card with an essential you know is your recipients favorite. Either way you are sure to get their attention in a big way!

Since essential oils are at times oil like in nature, they can stain cards and cause a big mess if you attempt to send a vile with the card for apply the scent directly to the paper stock. Instead take the card and envelope and place it inside a plastic bag or large glass container. At the far end away from the paper, take a cotton ball and soak it in the essential oil or essential oil blend of your choice. Allow the card to sit with the scented cotton, in an enclosed, dark and dry place for about a week. Once the paper is thoroughly permeated with the scent, you can write your wishes and mail it out. Some cards now come with built in pockets to stuff trinkets. This can be used instead to hold a lightly scented cotton ball or freshly made pot-pourri.

With the recent problems with the mail and contaminants such as anthrax, it is refreshing to learn that certain essential oils such as oregano and eucalyptus may help protect the reader. In addition, unlike chemical perfumes, essential oils can have a profound effect on the readers mood and health... they will also be more likely to remember you and your kindness when essential oils are present to stimulate their mind.
