What a Real Aromatherapy Treatment Entails
We have commercialization to thank for the distorted view of what Aromatherapy is (see Aromatherapy vs. Aromacology for more information) along with what a true Aromatherapy treatment entails. If you were to tall someone from Europe or Asia of your vanilla candle Aromatherapy treatment, you would give them a good laugh indeed because true Aromatherapy treatments are part of holistic and mainstream medicine their and though of in those terms. Many are somewhat surprised to find the many similarities of Aromatherapy treatments and that of a message session. Firstly, it is important that the Aromatherapist takes down a detailed history of the person seeking help as a way of best determining which essential oil and type of application will work best. In countries such as England, it is quite proper for Aromatherapists to "prescribe" essential oils, diagnose and give treatment in the form of Aromatherapy. The client is also given essential oils to take home for use in baths and other forms of self-administration. With such treatments it's very important that the client is being monitored for a few weeks or even months to gage if the essential oils are working properly or at all. Due to the number of books on the subject of Aromatherapy many people now feel that going to an Aromatherapist isn't needed at all. This is of course not the case as along with the essential oils, one is given Go To Page: 1 2 |
