Arena fans or just about anyone interested in Arena Football should check with ArenaFan.com frequently. This page should be the envy of every sport in the world. In my long time on the internet, I've never seen any web page like it. It's staff of writers, which I'm proud to say that I'm a part-time member, keep the fan updated with everything that happens in the AFL.

Even though it's the off-season, the staff is busy pounding away at the keyboards. At the time of this writing there are articles about free agent signings from almost every team in the league. There is also an interview with famed AFL alumnus and Super Bowl MVP Kurt Warner. Plus a running list of players who have birthdays that day, news from the AFL2, articles on opinions and predictions for the coming season. During the season you can get real-time scores, listen to audio of games LIVE, and enter chat rooms to discuss the action while the game is on. For your entertainment, during the season, the site has contest games where you can compete against other fans to see who's the best at predicting the winners and losers that week.

Being a football fan, both the NFL and the AFL, I'm pretty happy with the fact that I have football almost year-round now. Even though I've grown up on the outdoor game, since I found Arena Football in 1991, it has become my first love in sports. Having ArenaFan around gives me a little fix of the AFL during the NFL season.

ArenaFan.com has been around for a few years now. Interestingly enough, it started out as Arena Fan Magazine. One man with a computer and printer put the magazine out weekly during the '95 season. However, with the growth of the internet and on-line sports information, Arena Fan Magazine couldn't supply fans with the info that they craved fast enough through snail mail. A group of fans with internet and World Wide Web saavy took over and the site became what it is today. Yours truely still has every original issue of Arena Fan Magazine.

The internet community for Arena Football is still small compared to the NFL, NBA, or MLB but it is growing every year. Right now there are a lot of fans who are willing, like myself, to get the word out and to share the fun and excitement of indoor football. From time to time, I will be having those people share with you their experiences and opinions. It should be exciting reading in the months and years ahead.
