Too tall an order for the probably-not-too-much-improved team from Southern California

Houston @ Oklahoma City

Rough year for Houston, playing most of their games on the road. It starts with a loss here.

Buffalo @ Toronto

This game is a toss-up. I'll go with the home team.

Grand Rapids @ Indianapolis

No Mike Pawlawski this year for the Firebirds, but they're at home and they still have Eddie Brown. I gotta go with them.

Carolina @ New Jersey

Fred McNair and the Cobras should prevail here.

Looks like I predict that all of the home teams will win this first week except for the New Jersey Gladiators.
