Well fans, the pre-season is under way. One more of these games and then it's time to play for real. I guess maybe I'm one of the few who like these practice games. I know that in the AFL, the players can either take them or leave them. The NFL, where perhaps they play too many pre-season games, the players hate them. I like them because I get to enjoy a game, and if we lose, it's no big deal. As opposed to regular season games where I'm tense throughout the whole game.
You cannot really tell how well a team is going to be by looking at pre-season games. Some coaches use these games in the way that they were meant to be used; as practice and for getting a look at the wanna-bes. The teams to watch are the expansion teams, in my opinion. I don't know much about these teams yet and I'd like to find out. Unfortunately, they aren't shown on TV. I know that the Toronto Phantoms look to be pretty good, the Chicago Rush can put up some numbers too. Information on the Detroit and New York teams seem to be scarce. Despite the pre-season, when the regular season starts, the established powerhouses usually take over. I see no reason to believe that this won't happen again this year. Still, I like these games. While I watched my Predators play their first of these games, my focus was on the new QBs. Connell Maynor went back to his home state of NY to play for them so we're starting again with a new signal caller. One more weekend of pre-season and we're ready to go to war for real. It should be an exciting and interesting season. Go To Page: 1
