New teams and alignments

Here's how the 2001 AFL looks: -American Conference-

Western Division -------------------- Arizona Rattlers Houston ThunderBears Los Angeles Avengers Oklahoma Wranglers San Jose SaberCats

Nothing new in the west Arizona and San Jose should be the favorites but watch out for Oklahoma

Central Division -------------------- Chicago Rush Detroit Fury Grand Rapids Rampage Indiana Firebirds Milwaukee Mustangs

Lots of new things here. Chicago and Detriot are expansion teams, and Indiana is what used to be the Albany Firebirds. If the Firebirds are intact from Albany, they should be #1 in this division.

-National Conference-

Southern Division ------------------ Florida Bobcats Nashville Kats Orlando Predators Tampa Bay Storm

Almost half of the total championships in the AFL belong to teams from this division. The defending champion Orlando Predators, the Storm, and Nashville are all consistent winners and this is the toughest division in Aren Football.

Eastern Division ------------------- Buffalo Destroyers Carolina Cobras New Jersey Red Dogs New York Dragons Toronto Phantoms

New York and Toronto are expansion teams and this division title is completely up for grabs. I think that Carolina, with Fred McNair has to be the favorite here.

The surprise is that the Florida Bobcats are still in existance. There was attempts to sell the team and I don't think that it's still a done deal that they'll be playing this year.

The regular season starts in April.
