Arena Bowl 14

Sunday, August 20, 2000 T.D. Waterhouse Centre Orlando, Florida

Before a national TV audience and a crowd of 15K+ screaming Predator fans, the Orlando Predators captured their 2nd Arena Football Championship in three years.

The Nashville Kats came into this game slightly banged up but on an incredable road winning streak. First they defeated the #3 seeded Barnstormers in Iowa, then traveling to San Jose to defeat the #1 seeded Sabercats, and earning a berth in their first Arena Bowl.

Both teams feature defense. Both coaches; Pat Sperduto of the Kats and Jay Gruden of the Predators, believe that defense is the way to win in this league, and they were proved correct as both offenses struggled through-out the game.

In the end it came down to skilled clock management and the kicker; David Cool, to defeat the Kats 41-38.
