Let's look at the leaders:
In the American Conference West the Oklahoma Wranglers are 4-1, tied with the Arizona Rattlers but in first by virtue of scoring more total points on offense. The Wranglers are new to Oklahoma but not new to the AFL. Last year this team was the Portland Forest Dragons and almost made it to the playoffs. They will be battling the Rattlers for first place all year but in the end, I think the Rattlers are the better team.
In the American Conference Central the Grand Rapids Rampage are a game ahead of the Milwaukee Mustangs. Grand Rapids is in it's third season and has been a contender from it's inception. There is a growing rivalry between them and the Mustangs of which the first game went to the team from Milwaukee. Grand Rapids has an impressive receiving tandem in Baker and Bailey with the passes thrown by the experienced arm of Corey Pullig. Definately a playoff-bound team.
In the National Conference South, the Orlando Predators lead this conference and the league with the only undefeated record at 4 - 0. This division has consistantly been the toughest and the most successful in all of Arena Football. Six Champions have come out of this division and two of these teams are the top two most frequent contenders in the Big Game. That's bad news for the expansion Carolina Cobras who were placed in this division. The Orlando Predators have the edge but it's a tentative one. The Nashville Kats are tough and the Tampa Bay Storm, mark my words here, are playoff bound.
In first place in the National Conference East are the reigning Champion Albany Firebirds. Albany has the most potent offensive attack in the league even though they lost "Touchdown" Eddie Brown to retirement early this year. They lost a game to their conference rivals, the New England Seawolves, but they are definately the team to beat this year. QB Mike Pawlawski is the next Kurt Warner.
