Week 8 Review
(Home teams in caps.) Game of the Week: GEORGIA 49, Orlando 47 This might signal a changing of the guard in the Arena League. The Force is starting to take control in the National Conference. Orlando is being challenged by two teams, ironically one isn't Tampa Bay's Storm. The Storm themselves face an uphill battle to gain a playoff spot. Scores: Dallas 72, LOS ANGELES 50 Recaps: Dallas at Los Angeles This game shows the edge the National Conference has over the American. Dallas, currently seeded fourth, goes into the American Conference leading Los Angeles Avengers at LA-and wins by 22 points! Can any team from the American Conference stand a chance in the ArenaBowl? Grand Rapids at San Jose Don't look now, but the SaberCats are back in the fray for the playoffs! Perhaps the SaberCats give the American Conference a shot at ArenaBowl glory? New York at Austin New York stumbles at Austin, while the Wranglers help their cross-state rivals' hopes for an Eastern Division title. Las Vegas at Arizona The Gladiators continue to surprise-and take the lead in the Western Division. New Orleans at Chicago What sophomore slump? The VooDoo continue playing quality VooDoo football. Tampa Bay at Philadelphia Philadelphia barely stays alive in playoff race. Loss hurts the Storm's chances. Columbus at Colorado Columbus destroyed in the Mile High City. Week 9 Preview Game of the Week: Georgia at New Orleans The VooDoo seeks to avenge a week one loss to the Force. Force wants its division rival to know it is a force to be reckoned with. Winner takes lead in division and conference. Other Games: Austin at Orlando Austin has played tough at times, but won't be competitive in the Jungle against the Predators. Colorado at Dallas Dallas faces a second straight American Conference division winner. At home, the Desperadoes should win. New York at Columbus Game against Austin a wake-up call for the Dragons. New York should cement Columbus' position in the Eastern cellar. Grand Rapids at Philadelphia The Soul should get its second straight win in a home game against the Rampage. Arizona at Nashville Both teams won their first game of the season. Neither has won since. One team's streak ends in this game. Can Nashville have enough rest from a bye week to overcome the Rattlers? Tampa Bay at Los Angeles A sign that things aren't what they used to be in the Arena League. Tampa Bay is fighting for a playoff berth; Los Angeles is sure to be in the playoffs. Of course, the Storm plays in the rugged National Conference while the Avengers play in the lesser American Conference. Can the Storm take heed in LA and stay in the playoff hunt?
