Week 4 Review
(Home teams in caps.) Game of the Week: LOS ANGELES 71, San Jose 69 This game may mark a new intensity in this intrastate rivalry. Last year's champions are now 1-3 and in third place in the Western Division-two games behind the Western-leading Avengers. This game took place in Los Angeles. San Jose can still win in the rematch in the Bay area. But will we see another rivalry to rival Florida's "War on I-4?" This game doesn't hurt. This game also left Los Angeles in sole possession of first place. Scores: DALLAS 42, Orlando 28 Recaps: Orlando at Dallas The 1972 Dolphins could have popped the top off a bottle of champagne after this game. Orlando was the last team to fall from the ranks of the undefeated this season. Dallas rebounds after struggling at home against Columbus last week. Chicago at Columbus Columbus gave Dallas a tough fight last week. Chicago walked into an ambush at Nationwide Arena in Columbus as the Destroyers get their first win of the year. Nashville at New York New York keeps pace in the Eastern Division. Nashville still suffering expansion team growing pains. Austin at Grand Rapids Someone had to win this game-and the Wranglers roped out a high-scoring victory in this typical Arena game. The Rampage loses at home to go 0-3-the only team without a victory this season. Philadelphia at New Orleans The VooDoo put a hex on the Soul to go 3-1 and climb into a three-way tie for first in the Southern Division. Philadelphia still not in the elite level. Georgia at Las Vegas Georgia climbs into a three-way tie for first with the Predators and VooDoo. Las Vegas loses at home. This game is a defensive struggle in the Arena League. Georgia so far is looking very competitive as they win on the road. Colorado at Arizona Colorado rebounds from a tough home loss to the Rush to win on the road at Arizona. The Rattlers are missing Bonner and are battling San Jose-for last place in the Western Division. Are these the two teams that played for the ArenaBowl title last year? Week 5 Preview Game of the Week: Tampa Bay at New Orleans New Orleans is part of my "Game of the Week" for the second straight week. This is a showdown in the rugged Southern Division where four of the five teams have only one loss and Tampa Bay trails the three co-leaders by ½ game. New Orleans plays at home, but the Storm is coming off a bye week rested. This game should be close. New Orleans has won three in a row after starting the season with a loss (to co-leader Georgia). Tampa Bay is looking to rebound from the beating at the Jungle two weeks ago.
