Swainson’s Thrush

Swanson's Thrush is a song bird with pink legs, a thin beak and stands about 6 ½ inches tall. Its back is olive drab in color and has dark spots on its white chest. The tan eye ring is part of its plumage's coloring. Both the male and female have similar plumage. The bottom of its tail is white with light tan on the underside of its wings while the top of its wings are light brown. Young birds show tan colored tips on the feather's edges. The Swainson's Thrush, is named in honor of the early 19th century English ornithologist William Swainson.Other Names- In French they call this thrush, Grive à dos olive and in Spanish they call it Zorzal de Swainson
