Snow Bunting


When the birds began a population increase during November they fed on the beach. and by December the buntings exhausted the food supplies on the beach and began feeding on mud flats and ploughed land.

On one occasion the hawk forced a bunting into the sea, not even troubling to retrieve it. From the late days in the month of October to the last days of March large flocks may be seen in low-lying coastal regions and inland agricultural areas
