The Majesty of Egypt is a 17 day archaeological study tour offered by Far Horizons. Far Horizons was founded in 1982 by a Maya archaeologist. This company specializes in designer tours to areas with significant archaeological and indigenous heritage. Many of their staff members are former archaeologists and anthropologists. Furthermore, in 2001, Forbes Magazine named Far Horizons Archaeological and Cultural Trips, Inc as one of the top 100 web sites, number three under the category of Cultural Travel.

The Majesty of Egypt tour is led by Dr. Bob Brier and Patricia Remler. Dr. Brier received his Ph.D from the University of North Carolina and currently teaches philosophy at Long Island University. He has published several books including The Murder of Tutankhamen: A True Story and The Daily Life of the Ancient Egyptians. Dr. Brier has also acted as host of the Learning Channel series The Great Egyptians.

Patricia Remler is an art historian, photographer, researcher, and author. She is the author of Egyptian Mythology A - Z. She has also acted as the researcher for several of the Learning Channel series: The Great Egyptians; Napoleon's Obsession: The Quest for Egypt; and Unwrapped, The Mysterious World of Mummies.

The Majesty of Egypt explores various archaeologically significant sites along the Nile River. The tour starts at the Giza Plateau, just outside of Cairo. Participants will tour Great Pyramid, the Valley Temple, Thebes, various museums, and the monuments of the old Islamic part of Cairo. The tour will then travel south from Aswan to Abu Simbel. During this portion of the tour, participants will experience the Aswan Dam, Lake Nasr, various Nubian temples, the Temple of Meharakka, and Ramses the Great's fabled temple.

Cost for The Majesty of Egypt is $7295.00. This fee includes round trip airfare from New York's JFK to Cairo as well as all Egyptian internal flight; all hotels; most meals (as listed in the itinerary); the overnight train in sleeper compartments from Cairo to Luxor; three nights onboard the Eugénie cruise ship; ground transportation; and entry fees. This fee does not include the $150 donation checks to The Epigraphic Survey; passport or visa fees; airport taxes; beverages or food not included on regular menus; laundry; excess baggage charges; personal tips; alcoholic drinks; telephone and fax charges; or other items of a personal nature.
