The backlash against Muslims is not just limited to the US. There have been many reports of hate crimes from other parts of the world, particularly Western countries. Here are a few below.

Conclusion
Although the numbers of hate crimes being reported are great, even greater is the support the vast majority of Americans are giving to their Muslim neighbors. It would be difficult to not to look back at the events of September 11th without great sadness but if there is any good to come out of it, it will be the fact that Americans of all religions and backgrounds came together like never before to mourn and pray and affirm their commitment to tolerance and democracy. Buildings may crumble but the true American spirit lives on.
