In doing some more reviewing of online business specializing in Arabic products, I found that there are many more than expected. Depending on what your search words are, you can find a number of stores that would not have come up in a previous search. For example, if you're looking for Morrocan furniture but you use the search words "Arabic furniture" only, you will miss out on finding a few businesses. And although the term "Oriental" isn't used to describe the Arabs or Arab culture anymore, you can still find a whole category of furniture, home decor, and especially rugs under the term Oriental. Using various search terms, I've located a number of online stores which sell items from different parts of the Arab world.

Furniture and crafts

If you're interested in decorating your home with a Moroccan look, a good place to see is Morracania.com http://www.moroccania.com/ This store sells: rugs and kilims, pillows, and leather items as well as leather items and jewelry. However, their selection is not very large. Moroccarts.com has a selection of carpets of Atlas, Rabati, Mediouna, Persian, Tribal and Modern weaves, as well as beautiful wooden furniture and pottery both very North African in style . Maison Marrakech, a San Francisco based company is another good source for rugs, lamps, pottery, wood items and mosaic. Their store can be found at www.moroccoarts.com, not to be confused with the website previously mentioned above. Moroccan Design Imports is another interesting store that sells a variety of home accessories. They even sell doors and windows, and tents. This southern California based business can be found at http://ss02.lynk-systems.com/importstore...

Another place worth visiting, which sells a very nice variety of products from Morocco, is Casablancaart.com. This online store is organized and neat which makes it easy to browse, and their products appear to be nicely crafted. Their products include: tajines, mirrors, vases, chests, and ceramic items. There are far too many online stores selling Arabic carpets, so I will not list all of them here. For Egyptian made carpets, one company worth looking into is Haddad carpets. Based in Egypt and in business since 1958, this company sells some beautiful kilims, tapestries, cushions, knotted carpets, and "rag rugs". Expecting to find "rag" looking rugs, I thought these were actually nice simple cotton, designed rugs which are ideal, as Haddad carpets says, for "camps, beaches, kitchens, cars and trucks, children rooms and play rooms."
