Lemon sharks may be common, but they're not tame. Divers have become a little too familiar with them, thinking that they're friendly. "Playing" with a shark when diving is not a smart idea. Any shark will bite when provoked, and lemon sharks have been known to attack humans. The International Shark Attack File reports nine unprovoked attacks, seven provoked attacks, and five attacks on boats by lemon sharks from 1990-1997.
