FOCUS on East Tennessee's Tri-Cities
a private, four-year liberal arts institution founded in 1867. It is an independently governed institution with "covenant affiliations" to the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and the Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
The Southern Baptist founded Virginia Intermont College in Bristol, Va., in 1884.
The Tri-cities also has Northeast State Technical Community College, which has served to provide a lot of the drive behind the area's economy through its training programs.
