Sports and OutdoorsOne of the biggest attractions in the tri-cities area is Bristol Motor Speedway. The course is probably NASCAR's most popular short track, so it draws national attention to the area and provides a big economic boost locally on race day. But there are other, less well know sports attractions in the tri-cities. The Virginian golf community is a great plac to look into if golf holds a central place in your life. The local people enjoy the presence of the Kingsport Mets, part of Appalachian League minor league baseball. The Tennessee Eastman Hiking and Canoeing Club (TEHCC) is just one place to contact if you want to take advantage of the area's mountains and waterways. Education in the Tri-citiesOne finally area of Tri-cities life that is worth a look is the education sector of the region. The are boast 5 college. East Tennessee State University Three denominational colleges opperate in the area. Milligan College in Johnson City began in 1866 as Buffalo Male and Female Institute.
