Finding Good BargainsIf you prefer dealing with a shop that might offer limited warranties, check the yellow pages for small mom and pop appliance dealerships or appliance outlets. Most offer newer models at low prices and are always willing to reduce the price for quick sale. Be wary of pushy salespeople. Do your research before shopping. And, of course, you can check the known-brand stores during special sale days and promotions. Most chain retailers won’t lower the tag price. But, at least they can offer delivery and set up (sometimes at a cost). Again, some stores offer “12 months no interest” deals, but they require credit checks. Other Deals After the new year, stores begin discounting their clearance items. The longer you wait, the cheaper the deals. Some stores offer special coupons that can be combined with clearance prices. This is the best time to buy bedding, towels, linens, other houseware items, and clothing.
