Container Gardening (part one)  The type of soil you use will depend largely on the plants you intend to pot. Typically, you want a soil with good drainage. Avoid those really cheap bags of dirt, since those tend to clump up and turn nasty. Get the more expensive soil that contains water-absorbing granules or drainage material. “Soil-less” mixtures also work very well. For best results, combine top soil, peat moss, and perlite soils together. References:
