From the Mailbag

The second e-mail was a familiar request - to exchange links with a website. This one went live on August 31, 2000, and may still have some kinks to work out. What is different about TreasureUSA is the opportunity to chat online with others who are buying and selling antiques (or vehicles and real estate). This innovation offers a friendly atmosphere for participants, and could well be the beginning of a trend toward a Suite101-style community for collectors and dealers. There are other features which include articles by experts, a secure transaction for purchases, and (not yet available as of this writing) "a 'My TreasureUSA' feature which allows users to more easily manage their TreasureUSA account. This feature will give users quick access to account information, the items they're buying and selling, and will incorporate a valuable user feedback forum."

I look forward to hearing more from Mr. Pingsen, especially if he is able to find a Western sponsor to enable him to travel. His wish is to make cut paper images of classical European architecture. If the examples on his webpage are any indication, the results will be auspicious, indeed!

And, I intend to become a member of TreasureUSA even though I have no intention of buying or selling in the immediate future. I just think it's a great concept!
