A Compendium of Wedding Collectibles
One of my many (non-antique) collections is of those adorable, expensive little Limoges boxes. The real thing is usually sold in fine jewelry and department stores, or on their web pages. Very acceptable reproductions can be found in a number of giftware catalogs. Here's a website that carries a delightful line of Limoges boxes with a wedding theme: Artoria's Limoges. The picture on this page is of one box in the collection. If you're a collector of Precious Moments figurines, the cake toppers at DBC Collectibles will captivate you. Even if you don't need a cake topper, these would be a great addition to your collection. Perhaps unicorns, faeries and castles are in keeping with your wedding theme? Affectionately Yours has a very nice variety to choose from, in pewter and porcelain. I loved this website! JPC Crystal specializes in Lladro porcelain, particularly their lovely wedding cake toppers, hand bells, and figurines. And if you can't imagine any better wedding symbolism than the Barbie doll, here's a website which will fulfill your wildest dreams! Several lovely Barbie brides and designer creations can be seen, which may prompt you to wish you and your groom were 11 1/2" tall...Awesome Dolls Last but easily one of the best, is Michael Ricker's Bunny Wedding Party. This pewter series is so adorable, you'll want to give them as gifts to your attendants. Have fun shopping, knowing that with any of these priceless collectibles you'll have a lasting memento of your special moment in the sun. Note: Beginning with this article, my column will move to a monthly frequency for the foreseeable future. You may still join the discussions or send me e-mail, as I will keep close tabs on the topic. When next you hear from me, it will be from Alaska!
