Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok Volume 1 Anime DVD Review - Page 2

More praise for Loki Ragnarok is the excellent English casting from ADV. In particular, the voice for young Loki played by voice actress Shannon Emerick. She gives his youthful character just the right tone to imply a maturity beyond his years and a sense of worldliness about him giving him an air of authority to his character that an immortal being would have no matter what age he appears to be.

Excellent animation, a cool soundtrack, promising story telling and a unique and creative concept reveals Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok as one of the best animes of the coming year. It rates a high 9/10 right out of the gate.

For those of you unfamiliar with Norse mythology and would like some background of the original Norse figures and terms so that you can compare them to the anime series, below is some basic information for you. Loki - God of Mischief, known as The Trickster Odin- All Father of the Norse Gods, he rules over them in Asgard Asgard - The Realm of the Norse Gods Thor - God of Thunder and Lightning, a fierce warrior and big drinker, he carries his magical hammer Mjollnir, a mighty weapon that will always fly back to him when he throws it at his enemies Heimdall - the Watchman, he is the god who guards the entrance to Asgard and the Rainbow Bridge that leads to its gates, in actual mythology, he is stated to be Loki's sworn enemy and they are fated to kill each other at the end of the world Ragnarok - The term for the End of The World for the Norse gods

Rating: This anime series is rated PG for some frightening moments and brief violence.

Release Information: Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok Volume 1 (of 7), containing episodes 1 to 4, will be available October 18th. A Volume 1 release with an art box to hold the entire series will also be available the same day.
